Our Story

It all started when …

I found myself in the daunting position of trying to help my own daughter prepare for college admissions … and pay for it!

During her freshman year in high school, my daughter presented me with her college interest list. I won’t lie.  It caused me a lot of anxiety! My biggest concerns were: How would she get into these “near impossible” schools and, more importantly … How in the world were we going to pay for it?

Before she went off to college, my daughter said to me, “Mom, you can’t just keep all of this information to yourself.”  She was right.

Since then, I’ve helped other students get into their top colleges, including Duke, Harvard, Brown, Stanford, Spelman, UT-Austin, UCLA,  UVA, University of North Carolina, Howard, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, University of Maryland and more!

I spent the next couple of years researching any and everything that could give me a “behind-the-curtain” look at college admissions, including interviewing former college admissions officers, counselors, buying and reading over 30 books, etc. Yep! I really went down the rabbit hole! Then it clicked!

 What if I took this enormous amount of information, combined it with persuasion techniques I’ve used in the courtroom as a trial attorney for over 25 years, and created a method my daughter could use to craft a college application that stood out from the crowd?  Well... my “courtroom” method worked!  My daughter was admitted into almost all of her top colleges, and went on to attend Duke University (which accepted less than 8% of its applicants that year).
